IndieARCs is the brainchild of authors Lizzy Ford and Julia Crane, and was founded on the premise that relationships sell books. Its service fills a critical need in the author and publisher services marketplace right now by offering an affordable platform for indie authors and small press publishers to build a rabid fan base for their titles. IndieARCs is all about "tribe building." According to co-founder, Lizzy Ford, "IndieARCs is modeled after the best practices of successful authors, whose ways of doing business focus on building relationships with readers, galvanizing grassroots support and laying the foundation for long-term success." Every title uploaded by an author or publisher is provided a book club platform, where authors and readers can engage via forums, messaging, blogs, and so forth. The groups have robust file and graphics storage capabilities, event planning tools, wiki-style pages for collaboration, a newsletter email system, and more. All site wide programs are meant to promote relationships between authors and readers.
