We know the holidays are about spending time with family and taking time to appreciate all we have and helping others who may not be as fortunate. As part of that spirit, Elley Arden is doing something really wonderful. She is doing a fun event, #sightsandsounds of the holidays. Each day, Elley will post onto Facebook and Twitter, a picture, or small post, about something she saw (holiday themed) or heard while out and about (running errands, Christmas shopping, etc) or even while she's at home with her family.
Elley is hoping all of us will do the same as a way to share the holiday fun from all over. But, what makes this event extra special is that Elley will be giving a sizeable donation to a charity, which will be chosen by you---the reader, and needs your help. All you need to do is post a picture, using #sightsandsounds, to your social media (Facebook/Twitter) and/or blog, then go to Elley's blog and leave the link in the comments. You can do this as many times as you wish. For the first 100 comments, Elley will donate $250. After the first 100 comments, Elley will donate $1 per comment, up to $1000. Full details are on Elley's blog.
Of course, we here at Barclay Publicity thought this sounds like a lot of fun and had to participate.
Nicole's kitty tried to get into the tree (silly cats--it's the ooooh SHINY factor!) She scolded him for getting into her tree, so he decided to sit *next* to the tree and give her an evil glare. And, she saw this guy riding on his motorcycle as the Grinch!
Jackie gave us some pictures from the holiday parade in her town. Love the train!
Dani spent last Saturday afternoon at her hometown Candlelight Walking Tour and captured some festive #sightsandsounds like pocket president ornaments, wagon rides, ice sculptures, and gingerbread house decorating contests. BTW, Dani voted for the zombie gingerbread house. We're not sure if you've ever seen a miniature model train before but the one in the photos is shown to scale and is about 1/8 of an inch tall! Incredible!
We do hope you'll participate and help Elley give back this holiday season (and don't forget to follow Elley on Facebook & Twitter).
Cheers for the team at Barclay Publicity!
