Hi there! I am so excited to be here and be working with Barclay Publicity. I am excited to be working with such an amazing group of people!
I was born a military brat through and through. I lived in 9 different homes before I was ten years old. I am sure that is why I have often found it difficult to settle wherever I am. While my family stayed in Texas—where my dad retired—I met and married a hometown boy who then went into the Air Force. Twenty years later, we are finally settled in Northern Virginia. Still, those itchy military brat feet are already pushing me to schedule either a move or a trip. Usually, I tend to fixate on Hawaii, but just traveling in general intrigues me.
For five years of my life, I lived in Germany with my family. My parents dragged us everywhere from Amsterdam to Luxemburg to Paris and through then Soviet controlled areas of Germany. It sparked my love of history and of course, solidified my need to constantly explore. Somewhere along the way, I picked up a love of reading—probably because my mother had been reading to me since I was born.
Fast forward to the early 2000s. I picked up a Linda Howard book thinking it was a thriller. It was the first romance I had ever really read and I was fascinated. I read over 300 books in a year and never looked back. I started right then writing romance and found that I loved it sexy and funny—along with a touch of danger at times. It is hard to believe I have close to 60 books out, and so
Right now, I am spending a lot of time in Hawaii with my Harmless group from Rough ‘n Ready and a military family—The Santinis. I enjoy telling stories of people who find love against all odds, and I really love finding humor through tears. While my two most popular series are very different from each other, they do have that in common. That no matter what obstacles life throws at you, if you are together in the end, that is all that is important.
If you want to spend time with me on a daily basis, you can hit up my social media, but I am usually on my Harmless Addicts group the most. I share seekrit news like excerpts and info about upcoming books. We also get together at cons privately and hang out.
Thank you so much for checking me out, and I cannot wait to get to know you better.
He was searching for something that was missing from his life.
Brando Santini is headed to New Orleans to blow off some steam with a few of his buddies. The respite from his life as a Marine doesn’t really seem to do the trick until he runs into his college crush, Kaitlin Fitzpatrick. After a little dancing and a few drinks, they end up in bed together and Brando knows she’s the one for him.
One night will never be enough.
Kaitlin never forgot Brando. She never would have thought the sexy nerd would have remembered her. More than that, she definitely didn’t expect he would be interested in seducing her. Their time in New Orleans is intense but much too short. The memories of his lovemaking leave her counting the days until she sees him again.
A complication neither of them expected.
By the time Brando arrives in Maryland, Kaitlin suspects that their one night together has left them with more than memories. When Brando insists on marriage, she refuses on the grounds he doesn’t love her. But what Kaitlin doesn’t understand is that when a Santini wants to prove his love, nothing will stand in his way—not her five brothers, his own annoying family, or even the woman he adores.

From an early age, Melissa loved to read. First, it was the books her mother read to her including her two favorites, Winnie the Pooh and the Beatrix Potter books. She cut her preteen teeth on Trixie Belden and read and reviewed To Kill a Mockingbird in middle school. It wasn’t until she was in college that she tried to write her first stories, which were full of angst and pain, and really not that fun to read or write. After trying several different genres, she found romance in a Linda Howard book.
Since the publication of her first book in 2004, Melissa has had over fifty romances published. She writes in genres from historical suspense to modern day erotic romance to futuristics and paranormals. Included in those releases is the bestselling Harmless series and her USA Today Bestselling series The Santinis. Along the way she has garnered an epic nomination, a multitude of reviewer’s recommended reads, over five Capa nods from TRS, eleven nominations for AAD Bookies and regularly tops the best seller lists on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Since she spent her childhood as a military brat, Melissa swore never to marry military. But, as we all know, Fate has her way with mortals. She is married to an AF major and is raising her own brats, both human and canine. She spends her days giving in to her addiction to Twitter, counting down the days until her hubby retires, and cursing the military for always sticking them in a location that is filled with bugs big enough to eat her children.
