Katlyn Duncan was born and raised in a small town in western Massachusetts. Her overactive imagination involved invisible friends, wanting to be a Disney Princess and making up her own stories. Her bibliophile mom always encouraged her love of reading and that stayed with her since. Even though she works full time in the medical field Katlyn has always made time for books, whether she is reading or writing them.
Katlyn now lives in southern Connecticut with her husband and adorable Wheaten Terrier and she is thrilled to finally share her stories with the world.

I have always been a daydreamer. Every day launched new and fantastical ideas in my mind that I had to write them down. At the end of the day, my head was so full of ideas I turned to journaling. They started off about what happened in my day-to-day but then I started to veer off into the “what if’s” of the world around me. These story ideas eventually started begging me to be told in a more traditional format.
The one that started it all for me was Maggie’s voice in my head. She was a reaper who found herself stuck inside of a teenage girl. She wanted to know why and how she got there, and how the heck to get out. And as a scientist, my chosen career field, I tried to push her away and keep my mind on practical things, but she protested. LOUDLY.
And as Twitter blew up, I started to connect with readers and writers just like me. The scientist in me did much research and I realized I didn’t have to give up anything in my life to tell Maggie’s story. I just had to tell it.
When I sat down and listened to her and allowed her story to come out of me, for the first time in my life I knew I was doing something special. And eventually someone else recognized that as well.
When I signed with Carina UK in 2013, I was the happiest I’d ever been. I had the opportunity to expand Maggie’s story into The Life After trilogy and I was thrilled to show her off to the world.
I’ve learned so much in the past year and a half that I look forward to sharing more of my stories with the world. I even expanded me writing to a YA/NA contemporary novel, This Summer, which was an amazing challenge for me. That story spurred from those high school day-to-day journals and I’m so happy I was able to be inspired to write Hadley and Will’s story. I even expanded their universe with a holiday novella to be released November 2014.
I never would have been able to do this without the amazing support of my family and friends, Carina UK, and readers worldwide. I look forward to continuing my writing journey with all of you.

About THIS CHRISTMAS:
This year, if Hadley wrote her dream Christmas list, it would go something like this:
1. Spend every waking – and sleeping – moment with her incredibly gorgeous boyfriend, Will.
2. Figure out what’s been bugging him lately. Yes, going away to college has been tough…but it’s time they reconnected.
3. Enjoy a sparkling Christmas in New York City, gazing at the Rockefeller tree, going ice skating, and drinking steaming mugs of cocoa in Central Park.
So, driving off to spend Christmas in a rustic cabin in the woods wasn’t exactly the plan. But when it comes to her irresistible, and at times, impossible boyfriend, nothing’s ever that simple. And as fantasies of an icy Times Square are replaced by a clumsily decorated tree, making snowmen and the warmth of a log fire, Hadley feels herself falling in love all over again.
Except does Will have something to tell her that could change Hadley’s happily-ever-after Christmas dreams into a not-so-winter wonderland after all?
Don't miss this festive sequel novella to This Summer.
